Our Story
Our story goes back to 2006 where both our Founders met and were training to become ICAEW Chartered Accountants at a small 3 partner firm in Birmingham.
After completing their ACA training contracts, they both spent the next decade in careers that spanned BDO, KPMG and other corporates before Omar settled with his family in Pakistan and Ahmad started his own accountancy firm supporting small businesses in Birmingham.
In 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, with many firms putting their staff on furlough, Ahmad was struggling to recruit staff for his rapidly growing accountancy firm and urgently needed support if he wanted to keep his existing clients happy and continue growing.
Faced with this dilemma, Ahmad reached out to Omar to help him hire a team member directly in Pakistan. At the same time due to the backlog of work rapidly piling up, Ahmad decided to outsource some of their work to an outsourcing company overseas to get some short-term relief.
Very quickly Ahmad realised that the outsourcing company wasn’t providing the quick relief he needed and instead due to the quality of work, Ahmad and his UK team were spending more time checking and rechecking the work that trust was quickly lost.
After pulling the plug on the outsourcing company, Ahmad with the help of Omar beefed up the offshore team in Pakistan which was proving successful as the rigorous standards and quality instilled within Ahmad’s team in the UK were replicated across to the team in Pakistan.
Today Propact not only continues to support our Founder’s accountancy business with a dedicated offshore team, but it also supports many other accountancy and bookkeeping firms by ensuring the same high quality and rigorous standards expected by our Founder for his own firm are equally maintained for our clients.

Our senior leadership team have a combined 30+ years of working in owner managed firms as well as working in the top 10 and Big 4. Our Co-Founder continues to run his own accountancy firm supported by a team of offshore resources through Propact.
Ahmad Abdul Qayyum BA (Hons) FCA
Co-Founder and Director of Partnerships
Ahmad is responsible for growing the business and building lasting relationships with our clients. In addition to his role at Propact Ahmad runs his own accountancy firm on a day-to-day basis. Previously Ahmad trained in a small 3 partner practice with our Co-Founder Omar and spent many years working in larger practices including BDO and then in industry. Away from work, Ahmad enjoys playing badminton, spending time with his wife and four children and enjoying nature walks.
Omar Jawed BA (Hons) FCA
Co-Founder and Director of Operations
Omar heads up the operational side of the business and ensures our clients get the best possible experience, and our team have the support to deliver exceptional services. Previously, Omar trained in a small 3 partner practice with our Co-Founder Ahmad and went on to work at KPMG before moving to Pakistan and taking up corporate roles. Outside of work, Omar can be found on the golf course perfecting his swing as well as spending time with his wife and two boys.
